MILWAUKEE– Tyler Polley made 5 3-pointers and scored 23 points in the 2nd half to assist Connecticut retreat and beat Marquette 65-54 on Tuesday night.
Marquette used black uniforms in assistance of Jacob Blake, his household and the Kenosha County neighborhood. Blake was shot 7 times in the back by a Kenosha law enforcement officer on Aug. 23. The county district lawyer’s workplace revealed on Tuesday that it would not look for charges versus the law enforcement officer associated with the shooting.
Marquette opened the 2nd half on a 12-2 run for its biggest lead of the video game, 43-25. Polley, who was 0 of 3 from the field in the very first half, scored all of his 23 points as UConn outscored Marquette 40-11 in the last 15 minutes.
Dawson Garcia had 20 points and 11 rebounds to lead Marquette (6-6, 2-4 Big East).
Isaiah Whaley included 15 points and 13 rebounds for UConn (5-1, 2-1).
